Soulhike

Laugavegur
and Fimmvörðuhals
National Geographic has listed the Laugavegur hiking trail in Iceland among the best hiking trails in the world. Hiking pilgrims from all countries travel to Iceland to experience this spectacular route. Hiking Laugavegur is a souljourney through geological time, where the creation story of the Earth unfolds before your eyes. From the hot volcanic springs and colorful geological formations of Landmannalaugar, through the barren moraine landscapes of Myrdalsjökull, to the lush glacial valley of Thorsmörk, you experience the wonders of Iceland up close at a pace where your soul can keep up. Weather permitting, the Soulhike continues from the end of the Laugavegur trail in Thorsmörk over the Fimmvörðuhals glacier pass to the Skógar waterfall. The hike is a total of 75 km divided into 6 days of hut-to-hut hiking with full accomodation.

Soulhike Laugavegur differs from other guided hikes by a more conscious approach to hiking as a personal process. We hike with presence, both towards the surroundings, our bodies, and each other. You must therefore be prepared to be able to hike in silence for periods of time and respect the framework for this when required. The silence will deepen your experience, while you still share your experiences with others.
We prepare ourselves for the changeable Icelandic weather, which can be both magical and extreme. Storms, strong winds, cold temperatures and dense fog are weather we must be prepared for, and the right packing and preparation for this trip is therefore particularly important. With you are two mentally and physically strong Soulhike guides, who take care of guiding, safety, logistics and cooking.
