Soulhike

Experience a total solar eclipse
in West Iceland
On August 12th. 2026, the moon will pass directly between the Earth and the sun, casting a narrow strip of the Earth into total darkness. In West Iceland the solar eclipse will be total. The Reykjanes and Snæfellsnes peninsulas lie precisely within the path where the full eclipse can be experienced. Experience the rare moment when daylight disappears and complete darkness falls in the middle of the day. Combine the solar eclipse experience with a group hiking journey featuring day hikes through Iceland’s stunning natural landscapes.
We will travel together in a 9-passenger bus and camp at Icelandic nature campsites. You can bring your own tent and equipment or rent camping gear through Soulhike. Meals are not included in the trip, but there will be opportunities to cook at the campsites as well as make regular grocery stops along the way.

Soulhikes hikes differ from other guided hikes by a more conscious approach to hiking as a personal process. We hike with presence, both towards the surroundings, our bodies, and each other. You must therefore be prepared to be able to hike in silence for periods of time and respect the framework for this when required. The silence will deepen your experience, while you still share your experiences with others.
